Sir Stampalot June Challenge

Well, it's the first of the month again, and time for a new Stampalot Challenge! For June we have a photo (see right) as inspiration. It can be interpreted in any way you like! I would have liked to have come up with something really creative and abstract, but in the end I couldn't resist another opportunity to use the gorgeous Crafty Individuals poppy field stamp! I coloured it with watercolour pencils except for the poppies, for which I used Promarkers to make them stand out. The background is a paper napkin, and the sentiment is by Prickly Pear.

A good tip for using napkins is to separate the layers (they usually have two or three) and use only the top (printed) layer. This will be quite thin, and almost impossible to put glue on without tearing it, so put the glue on the base card instead and gently smooth the napkin over it. (A Xyron machine is perfect for this if you have one.)

As usual, there's a fantastic prize on offer this month!

So if you'd like to be in with a chance of winning the goodies, check out the samples by my talented teamies on the Challenge Blog, and get those entries in! Can't wait to see them!

Good Monring Lynne

Your card is beautiful, so many elemenets depicting the photo inspirartion perfectly.

I really though the backgrond was stamped with the Hero music stamp.

Now I know it's a napkin I can't imagine how delicate it was to work with, I think I would have given up at the stage it was glued to my fingers, as inevtiable it would have been - I'm not known for my patience !

Stunning card, Lynne! I too thought the background was stamped at first, as I asked you what make of stamp the Cow parsley was! Beautiful colouring of the crafty individuals stamp too.

I love how you have used different colouring mediums on the image to allow the poppies to stand out.

Your interpretation of the inspiration photo is wonderful Lynne and I think you have done an amazing job layering the napkin onto your card. I know it's not easy to achieve such a perfect finish and how could you not have used the lovely CI stamp (I have just this minute had an envelope of goodies from CI drop through my letter box). It's beautifully coloured. A truly stunning card.

This is beautiful Lynne, poppies are my favourite flower, so this could not fail to appeal to me! I love the pale green against that bright red, and how you have allowed the poppies tp 'pop' in the main image. Truly fabulous, Judith xx
