In Essence...

... I've just realised it's over three weeks since I last posted anything, and that's mainly because I haven't made anything to post during the last three weeks! I was very busy with school concerts and things leading up to the end of term, but also I've been sadly lacking in inspiration. I think my mojo broke up early and went on holiday without me!

However, it came back yesterday with the delivery of the much anticipated new Artylicious CD from Glenda at Graphicus. It's called Essence of Nature, and is simply stunning, full of the most gorgeous papers and elements in wonderful colours. Glenda's best yet, IMHO. I couldn't fail to be inspired by it, but  there's so much on it that the problem was in knowing what to try first!

I love the Elusive Images Eastern Grasses stamp set, and was very pleased to find a matching backing paper on the CD. It's beautifully subtle and makes a perfect background for the stamps. I used the main image from the set as a focal point (stamped on to paper coloured with VersaMagic inks), added some of the grasses along the bottom, and embellished it with a few butterflies from the Artylicious Butterfly Bliss CD. The sentiment is computer generated (not from the CD).

Inspired not only by Glenda's brilliant CD, but also by her posts such as this one about her decluttering, I decided that whilst I've got a decent amount of time off school I should try to emulate her! My craft stuff clearout is ongoing, but I hope to have time to get that finished and then maybe make a start on the rest of the house. (Note the word "maybe"!) So my blog will probably be a bit quiet again for a while (though I'm sure I'll be tempted to stop work now and then and make some more cards with the CD!), but I will do my best to look in on everyone else's blogs when I can. Hope you are all having a good summer.

Hi Lynne

It's lovely to see you again and this is an absolutely gorgeous card. The CD sounds wonderful and I can't wait to seee what else you create with it.
Good luck with the decluttering. It's always such a job isn't it?
BTW I've just realised I've missed your last few posts which is very remiss of me. Anway I've caught up now. Your poppy card is just beautiful. I wish these little beauties lasted longer than just a few weeks in June!!
Enjoy your Summer hols. I hope it is nice and relaxing for you.

Hi Lynne

Thanks for calling by my blog .. .. always nice to hear from you.

I was doing quite well blog hopping until I landed on your lovely blog .. .. .. you sent me off to read all about "de-cluttering" and that was it .. .. I was off at a tangent LOL!!!

We are seriously in need of de-cluttering and each week I try to make "in roads" somewhere.

Quite a lot of our clutter belongs to Dave's Mum who passed away a couple of years ago now. It is hard to part with your own clutter let alone someone else's!!!

I bet you will get lots done in your break .. .. it sounds like you are ready for one after all of those end of term duties.

Your card is gorgeous by the way .. .. sorry I should have mentioned this at the beginning.

Love Jules xx

Gorgeous card, it makes me feel very serene. Good luck with you declutter - I am trying to do the same, but it's slow going as I seem to be mostly moving piles around but not really creating any space!

This is certainly beautiful evidence of the return of your mojo Lynne. It's a gorgeous card. I'm in love with that cd too. I don't think there's a single element on it that doesn't have me ooohing and aaahing!

Your card certainly has the oooh factor. Your use of the fab stamps is lovely.

Not long to our 'date'. So looking forward to meeting you and Sally.

Hugs
Lesley Xx

Absolutely stunning! I can't wait to see what else you make. I too ought to spend some time decluttering, but I am so looking forward to the trip we have planned and meeting Lesley too. I'd better declutter the table to give us some space!
