The Tree

It took me a while, but I have managed to make my photo of The Tree (see this post) into a digistamp! I had no idea of the best way to do it, so I fiddled around with it in my editing programme (which isn't P****shop) until I got a good silhouette, and then erased the background from around it, which took ages! I'm sure there must be a better, and quicker way! Any advice much appreciated for future efforts! Anyway, I was happy with the end result. This is the photo I used.

And here's the card made with the digistamp. (Computer generated sentiment, cut out with a Nestie, background coloured with Memento inks using ink dusters.)

And here they are together in the same picture!

  1. That is beautiful Lynne. When I do this I start by making the photo greyscale and then adjust the brightness and contrast until the background is white. Sometimes I also use 'high pass sharpen'. Then as a final resort good old 'paint' is the easiest way to get rid of any lingering grey areas. (I use Corel p.shop). I hope this helps, though I think you did an excellent job without any advice. Afriad I can't throw any light onto how you do this on the computer, but I can say stunning results, or Treeemendous !

  5. Lynne, this is fabulous. That lovely tree has certainly proved to be wonderful inspiration to both you and Sally and the designs you've created from it between you are simply jaw dropping.

I wouldn't have a clue where to start messing about with a photo to produce something like this. You have my sincere admiration.
