Not my forte!

Well, it had to happen, I suppose! The lovely ladies at Less is More have chosen the theme of "Masculine" for Week 7. Definitely not my favourite topic! Still, it's all part of the challenge, so here goes.

I really struggle with cards for men, probably because most of the men I know don't seem to go for typical male pursuits. So it's no good making them cards with footballs on, or beer glasses, or darts. Or even cars (unless camper vans count!) Anyway, I kept this one very simple - just a torn portion of an ancient text (Make Your Mark) and a column piece (Non Sequitur), with a sentiment by Anna Griffin. I'm not sure that any gentleman of my acquaintance will be likely to receive it! But there it is.

I really am enjoying these Less is More challenges. They certainly make me think. But after several weeks now of minimalism, I'm starting to get a bit of snow-blindness with all the white space! I'm getting the urge to go a bit wild with papers and embellishments, dies and decorations, ribbons and roses, borders and bling, and to fling as much on to a card as I possibly can! So watch this space! (Just until next week's LIM challenge, of course!)

Lynne, it's a perfect masculine card! The men in my life aren't into sports either, so it can be difficult.

Snow Blindness~!! LOL I will have to make sure that I am protected against that with plenty of color in between. :o)

Love this card, specifically for the fact that is gender neutral, not just a "for men" card. But honestly, anyone who appreciates hand craft will love this creation. You have done such a nice job here.

Love your comment about white space!

I like your card - the stamps, the layout, the simplicity.

Good luck with playing with all your embellishments. I, too, am enjoying the CAS style of LiM challenges.

cheers,

You've done a gorgeous job with it, Lynne. I love the Roman feel. I know what you mean about masculine cards, though. I have the same problem about no hobbies apart from computers and you can't do cards about those really.
Looking forward to seeing your really wild creation. You go for it.
Hope you are able to enjoy this wonderful sunshine.
hugs Lisax

I think you did a terrific job with this. I love that piece of a column. It made me think of Rome; I've been there in 2008 and you can see these columns all over the city. So many gorgeous buildings...
Oops off track; your card :)
I know what you mean about white spaces; I don't have them on my cards and I am always in awe if I see a card that does have some white space. Less is definitely more and this is gorgeous! Love it!
